Hope everyone has had a great summer! Fall is quickly approaching which means hunting season is almost here. I wanted to update you on what has been going on at the Warrior House along with what we have coming up this year.
First, we just finished the Metro 10 race in Albion this past weekend in which we had 400 racers compete in a 10 mile race that benefited the Warrior House. Each year this event grows and we hope that it can continue to. Thom Jennings has done a great job with this and we thank all of those who competed this year and hope more of you can join next year.
We would also like to announce that Kevin Wiegel has joined our team as the Director on Ministry. Kevin is going to focus entirely on our ministry program for each of our events and help us make sure we are sharing Christ the best we can at each event.
We will do three hunts this fall along with our annual Christmas offering. Sept 22nd, 23rd, and 24th we will be hosting our goose hunt along with a dice run with the Orleans county ABATE motorcycle club to benefit the Warrior House on the 23rd. Any one interested in participating in the dice run contact Todd Wilcox @ 716-566-0365. The dice run will end at the Warrior House where the vets will be staying for the hunt.
There will be two deer hunts this year. A bow hunt Nov 10th, 11, and 12th, and a gun hunt Dec 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Anyone one interested in helping with any of the hunts please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This will be our third year doing the Christmas offering as well. Last year we delivered meals and present to 17 veteran families in need with a total of 58 kids. This year our goal is to find 20 families in need and supply them with a full Christmas meal along with presents for their children. We will be delivering the meals and presents on Dec. 16th. If you would like to donate to the Christmas offering or would like to help out please email me and I can give you the details on how you can give and how you can help.
I look forward to making this another successful year and continuing to develop relationships with more vets and volunteers to continue expanding Warrior Houses ability to make a difference in peoples lives. We have a few other things in the works for next year that we hope to be able to share with you soon as well.
For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
